WHAT TO EXPECT:
This ten-day tour descends through the beautiful Yucatan Peninsula, home to colonial cities and magical towns as we Mexicans call them, ancient Mayan cities in ruins, and spectacular stretches of the Mexican Caribbean coast and the Gulf of Mexico. There is also the opportunity to enjoy the World Heritage site of Chichén Itzá, the ancient and lost Mayan city of Calakmul, wildlife, bird watching (flamingos), and lots of history.

Itinerary
Arrive at Cancun Airport and take a transfer to your hotel. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the first sighting of the Caribbean Sea.

• Admire the extraordinary pink lakes of Las Coloradas and marvel at the pink reflection against the blue sky.
• Look at the birds that inhabit the place, like the beautiful flamingos & Get back to nature in the mangroves of the Ría Lagartos Nature Reserve Park.
• Take the famous Mayan bath, filling our entire body with a mud mask full of minerals as the ancient Mayans did.
• Visit the archaeological site of Ek Balam and climb to the Acropolis.
• Admire the monumental entrance to the underworld, represented by the royal tomb of Ruler Uk’it Kan Lek Tok‘
• You will end the tour with a refreshing Splash into the crystalline water or the beautiful Cenotes
• Free time this evening in Valladolid Downtown. to admire the colonial architecture and the church of San Gervacio from the 16th century and the main square.

• Travel to Izamal, stopping in route for an included visit to the Maya ruins of Chichen Itza. Named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World (Early bird experience)

• Uxmal is the first stop of the day. One of the most impressive Archaeological Jewels of the Mesoamerican world and although it seems incredible the place that opened the doors to archeology in the area, a walk among ruins, temples, and symbolisms that will make travel our minds about this great Mayan culture.
• Sotuta de Peón is a henequen farm from the 19th century. Witness the different processes of transformation of the fiber of the Henequen, known worldwide as "Green Gold". Enjoy an incredible ride in a truck through the hacienda and fields on platforms pulled by mules, live part of the roots with Don Antonio in the Mayan house, and finish with a refreshing dip in one of the natural cenotes.
• Travel to the "white city" of Merida. Founded in 1542 on the site of “Tho, an” ancient Maya city, the colonial city of Merida retains much of its old-world charm thanks primarily to its architecture.

• Travel to the small village of Becal on the borders of Yucatan and Campeche states. That is where the famous "Jipi-Japa" or "Panama" hats are made. The becaleño weavers work in underground caves that abound in the backyards of the houses. See the Parque de los Sombreros, known for its monument to big hats! & take a look at the the17th-century colonial church
• Tour the Mayan ruins of Edzna. The complex once covered over 17 square kilometers. Highlights include a giant temple and various ancient halls.
• Driving to the nicknamed Mexico’s most colorful city, Campeche. In Mexico, an old saying says that the historic center of Campeche is simply to walk slowly and enjoy every step and each and every one of the beautiful views that its old colonial buildings and churches, jealously guarding stories of pirate attacks during the 17th century, traveling a little further back in history also one of the first meetings between Mayans and Spaniards.

• Rainforest-wrapped city of Palenque. Stroll around the once-heaving, Mayan city of Palenque – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the ruined city of Palenque. It once spanned a whopping 60 square kilometers and so far, less than 10% of it has been uncovered. Palenque was together with Tikal and Calakmul one of the most powerful cities of the Maya Classic, home of one of the most notable dynasties to which Pakal belongs, whose tomb was discovered in 1952 by archaeologist Alberto Ruz L’Huillier. Like all the Mayan cities of the Palenque Classic, it related to others through commercial exchange networks or alliances between groups of rulers. The territory was organized from the existence of state cities, whose centers have been identified by the presence of the so-called emblem glyph, but the basis of this organization: exchange, alliances, and of course war, implies constant mobility of it.

• Travel to Calakmul early in the morning, where rise to one of the most impressive and ancient sites of the Mayan world, which has been declared Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO because of its beauty. You will enter the biosphere reserve, where the ancient Mayan capital of Calakmul is located. The road will provide you with unique opportunities to see the endemic flora and fauna of the region. The clean and fresh air will immerse you totally in nature. You will have the opportunity to climb the Great Pyramid and, from there, get a 360-degree view of the entire area. You will know the importance of the location and the way it served the Mayan civilization during the Classic period. There are more than 6,500 structures. Admire the wonderful flora and fauna that surround the archeological zone and you may see endemic birds or deer.
